laugh Canada has a high tax base no way is Tavares signing in Toronto for only $8.5 million and you can only signing him for 7 years.

If hockey players paid taxes on personal tax rate, there were be significance in your statement. But since, especially high end salaried players, don't pay that much personal taxes, the tax rates in Canada is immaterial.

Got news for you Tavares still takes home more making $8.5 million in Tampa then he would in Toronto so how's it immaterial.

Just because you don't understand tax law doesn't make what you say revelant. Read what I said if possible. " High end hockey players pay little of their income at the personal tax rate in Canada". Period. That's why it possible for player in Canada to take home more money than a player in the US. Now Florida with no state income taxes, might make a player have more take home pay than in New York.
