Gotta think Bozak seeks out a multi-year deal.
Don't think TOR can unload that Martin deal either, lol.
Everything else is decent though.

Pretty Flawed logic here. Dumba is worth a 1st and Gardiner but at the same time hes only worth 5.5m x 5

Yeah can't see Bozak doing a 1 year deal he'll want probably at least 3 or 4 years.

I like all aspects of the Dumba deal, but my question would be. . . Why not do it now? As far as Bozak and Thornton I just don't see the Leafs spending that type of cash on short term contracts. Bozak will look for and likely get 4 years $18-20M! I don't see Thornton being a fit.

I think Dumba and Gardiner are closer in talent, but Dumba being RH is more valuable, and the 1st would be a low pick anyways.
Trying for a top tier RHD would cost us Nylander/Marner and picks/prospects. And, the cap hit would be in the $10M range.
Signing Jumbo and Bozak (would he accept for a chance at a cup?) for 1 year gives us options, and we need to sign Mathews and Marner the following year for $$$.
The Martin trade isn't even needed, but I heard Isles fan say they'd take him back for a pick.
The main idea is to upgrade without creating cap anchors down the road.

This team would be so fun, and tough to beat. Dumba plays the right side, and his RFA status is the only reason this would happen. Jumbo comes home to Ontario for one more run at it, re-sign JVR for $6M.
But not Bozak my lord!
Maybe Dumba costs an additional 5th, and you pay him 6M, Nylander 6.75M, they will still have no cap trouble...except Marleau's $6.25M hit in 2019/20...
