Love that this guy's name is "Canucks Decline"!
They made good moves today, and could get back to relevance by not declining everything.
Or else the name will continue towards "Decline into the gutter"

Luke Schenn could be a good depth add, but the teams literally just made the Dermott trade. I think this one could be done if perhaps a 5th was sent with Holl, to compensate for the cap relief.
As for Domi with half retained, for an older prospect who is a good AHL offensive Dman and a 4th next year... that's a bit greedy? Of course this team doesn't fit under the cap either when Muzz comes back in a few games, but say he gets held on LTIR until playoff time.
Then maybe Domi with half retained for 2022 3rd, 7th, 2023 5th and Duszak? Still not enough, but Domi is not playing well enough to warrant what will be required, IMO.

Hilarious Robertson on the second line, missed that the first time!

Yeah this would be a nice upgrade! Severson is above 50% corsi and fenwick, with more 55% d-zone starts, plus signed for next year as well.
What do you think if they added 2023 5th to it?

Wow that would be a great move!
What about 3.1M retained, keep the 2nd round pick but add Dermott to the deal?
I like this thinking, gotta swing for it when you have all the main components!

The questions that Dubas has on his mind too I bet. I just don't think he is done, feels like so many moveable pieces, and great deals like tonight's just waiting to be made!

Who would you trade for on Seattle?
I am sorry Dermott never became what he could have, but we have to have Lily above him at this point, Engvall is useful but could be upgraded on, maybe just was with Dzingel inbound.

to be honest i think they get another RHD and a top 6 forward makes holl the #7 and pushes a guy like spezza or simmonds to the number 13 and engvall to the number 14. thats depth</div></div>
"Let's hope so" to all of this! Although I think they will ship out some roster players to add the pieces you mention Odyssey, so the logjam will not be as severe I'm guessing.

However, this trade is a sign that Dermott be soon out the door. I dont think Toronto plans to keep Liljegren in the minors</div></div>
Totally agree, there's no way the Leafs are done IMO. They have a bunch of mediocre pieces that a team without their crazy depth could use, (Holl, Dermott, Kerfoot, Engvall, Mikheyev even) as well as a few prospects and picks.

Lyubushkin is getting completely crushed in terms of Corsi, Fenwick and expected goals this year. He has a bunch more d-zone starts than o-zone, but that is not enough to make sense of it.
Considering that both are big negatives RELATIVE to his already under 50% team.
Why do we think he is an upgrade? Friedman said he's a good D-man, who has flown under the radar, so I'm interested in opinions. Probably another great Dubas deal, what do you think?

Traded for 2 bottom pair defensemen, and re-signed Ceci!

I think you misclicked on Nutivaara when you were looking for someone really good in that CBJ trade. He is a bottom pair Dman. 15 minutes a night, absolutely not Rielly's future partner that you drastically overpay for. An article I found talks about how CBJ would be looking to get rid of him due to clear regression this year...

Leafs next year
Just jettison Johnsson? Not even trying for an RHD in the deal? Holl as the only right hander... guess the plan is to open up cap flexibility with it?
Unfortunately this team is clearly weaker than this year's, and a poor effort I'd say

Very very nice!
I like the team, with just a little bit of tinkering, and Mikheyev back at it, a more defensive Dman in Tanev for Barrie, great idea. Vancouver might be overpaying in that trade, even without the conditional 2nd, but a great Leafs team to make a run!

Ceci is definitely better than Daley, Daley is only in the NHL because of how bad Detroit is. Campbell could be better than Hutch but who knows. When Hutch hasn't had to face 14 breakaways a game, he's been pretty good. Very poor asset management.</div></div>
Hahaha, yeah man, I was looking for a positive to the Detroit trade there.
Not to mention that we hope to have Mihkey back for the playoffs, so until more injuries happen, the press box is the most likely place for either of those 4th liners. Depth is nice, but this is clearly making the team worse

It doesn't make you better. Glendening for Timashov, so experience and faceoffs improved, Daley for Ceci, almost even, Campbell instead of Hutch, probably an upgrade, but then you GIVE AWAY Johnsson. That is poor decision making, and probably asset management

OH wow, Manson had better be amazing. Dermott and Johnsson? And throw a pick in for good measure.
I really like Dermott and Johnsson, and convinced they are fringe pieces of the next 6 years of contending.
But Manson is amazing! He has a goal and 4 assists in 30 games this year! 16 in 74 games last year. And improving too! He had a massive negative expected goals last year, and this year it's up to -0,0 net!
Bring him in for any price you say? We can get on down with that

Thank you! What I've been thinking too.
He is RFA in the offseason, and will cost too much for TML to re-sign, so what it's the attraction? Buy low on Ryan Miller, or Aaron Dell, who are pure rentals from lottery teams...

I agree there are lots of Leafs fans wanting Georgiev for next to nothing, but this here is just ugly.
Andersson doesn't seem likely to be an NHL player long term at this point. I wouldn't trade Moore for him straight up.
