I have heard Hagel to Toronto has been discussed

But according to Friedman they got an offer (no team named) of a 1st + A level prospect and turned it down. I think for sure they want to keep him

In general its an interesting trade on paper but I dont think Chicago does it.

Wow that would be a great move!
What about 3.1M retained, keep the 2nd round pick but add Dermott to the deal?
I like this thinking, gotta swing for it when you have all the main components!

I agree with you that Chicago probably doesn’t do this, but I don’t think any team is giving a first and an A level prospect for Hagel. I believe it’s more Chicago is asking for a 1st and a prospect than a team has offered a 1st and an A prospect because no way Chicago would turn that down

I mean why take that when you can get more. Unlike Coleman Hagel has an extra year on his deal. Why take what Coleman got when you can get more.

As 1.5mill x 3 years is a steal for a guy of his talents.

Great player, great contract, but being realistic, he’s not nearly as good as Coleman was (even if he is young enough to develop into someone even better)

I’ve heard the opposite - that teams have laughed at the idea of a top prospect and a top pick for him. I think if Chicago’s looking for more than that then they’re dreaming.
