Mrazeks contract is bad
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Lambchopz</b></div><div>1. I don’t think it’ll cost that much to dump off considering that he was a very solid tandem goalie before this year and has only had ~15 games this season. It doesn’t seem like enough to drag his value this far down.
2. Why are we trading Holl for less than De Haan when Holl is the better player and has more term and is cheaper (factoring in the salary retained)</div></div>
I have a stupid feeling hes gonna rebound. As I have seen this before.. But it wont be with us
Sadly though I feel his time is up. Might get packaged off, might get bought out.
In general if he could have been playing like he did with the Wings and Canes probs be a 0.915 by now.
As we have seen him do well with us but the issue is he cant be consistent. Like against the wild, canes, islanders, and heck in that relief game against Devils he was good. Dont know if being hurt twice at the start of the year is the main cause of this issue but what I do know is that with Kallgren looking good in net in his 2 starts and relief game his time in Toronto may be up. Whether he finishes with the marlies, gets traded at the TDL, or bought out in the summer its a wait and see rn.

Mrazek can 110% rebound, I agree. I think he would do well in a fresh market, Toronto just isn’t a fit. If im Dubas, im looking at a hockey trade with Seattle, Dreiger for Mrazek. Both on almost identical contract and both struggling with their current teams, it makes a lot of sense tbh

I am sorry Dermott never became what he could have, but we have to have Lily above him at this point, Engvall is useful but could be upgraded on, maybe just was with Dzingel inbound.</div></div>
maybe getting a guy like jarnkrok with another depth piece like appleton for dermott ++

to be honest i think they get another RHD and a top 6 forward makes holl the #7 and pushes a guy like spezza or simmonds to the number 13 and engvall to the number 14. thats depth

Never mentioned Engvall would be a trade candidate. Having him as the 12-13th forward like Dzingel adds some depth.
However, this trade is a sign that Dermott be soon out the door. I dont think Toronto plans to keep Liljegren in the minors

Is this team supposed to be better? You've created two lines who are going to have a very hard time scoring and your right D side is not very good (keep Dermott if that's your best upgrade) . If this is what the Leafs look like next year, they are in big trouble.

What has Ekblad done apart from being pretty good and getting drafted really high? He isn't a big point producer, his advanced stats have been above average but far from elite and his health has been questionable at times. But he doesn't play for TO is a RHD so that means he's worth Doughty in his prime to fools who just hate the leafs more than they like their own team.

Let me guess "Nylander is only a 60 point winger!" Nylander would have to score 100 points for people like you to say he has any value at all.

I believe small moves can make this team a legit contender
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Liamthepro</b></div><div>It doesn't make you better. Glendening for Timashov, so experience and faceoffs improved, Daley for Ceci, almost even, Campbell instead of Hutch, probably an upgrade, but then you GIVE AWAY Johnsson. That is poor decision making, and probably asset management</div></div>
Isn't TO #1 in the league or at least top 3 in Faceoffs? Glendening isn't needed. Ceci is definitely better than Daley, Daley is only in the NHL because of how bad Detroit is. Campbell could be better than Hutch but who knows. When Hutch hasn't had to face 14 breakaways a game, he's been pretty good. Very poor asset management.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mikearky</b></div><div>Please tell me what in the Wings deal helps them?
Daley, I am fine dealing him and not expecting much in return. But if you want us to retain it cost something.
Glendening, I am willing to trade but has 1 year left and is good on face offs and PK.
You want use to eat Ceci's contract. That costs also.
So you want us to eat roughly 5 million in cap and for what Timashov and for a 5th NEXT year and a 3rd in two years from now.
The problem is this does nothing to help the Wings and every thing to help the Leafs.
Wings have no Cap issues, so no need to make this deal unless there is something of value coming back.</div></div>
Anything that brings the wings closer to 1st OA helps the wings, plus you got a young player, A RHD that can be flipped (we all know how valuable any RHD not on the Leafs is) and a couple picks

3rd= getting rid of Ceci
5th=Daley
Timashov=Glendening</div></div>
Ceci isn't a problem as long as he's playing on the bottom pair. Glendening makes too much and isn't worth acquiring. I would scrap that whole trade. I don't think any of this really helps the Leafs.

Not sure Toronto is better with Daley/Glendening.
Trevor Moore as our 2LW? Surely there must be better options? I'd rather move Kerfoot then Johnsson.

Georgiev to Toronto makes no sense unless the Leags see him as their starter in a year or two. If that is the case, he is worth more than a guy like Bracco who still somehow isn't seen as worth a look in Toronto. If they just want a backup there are plenty of vets out there that can be had for a mid round pick.
