Sign a very good defensive center in Backlund, but it will be another year where Montreal cant score a goal.

Underestimating the price of some key signings and the lineup is a bit of a mess. De Haan is a LHD, Petry stays on 2nd pairing, need room for Lehkonen and Hudon to play bigger roles, Grabner would be excessive, but putting him on a line with Byron would be entertaining at least.

Danault, De Haan, Backlund, Grabner, will probably take at least a little more to sign.

Shaw trade is bad value for Montreal. Don't listen to the nay-sayers. He's a valuable player. Wouldn't fit into this plan, but should be able to get decent pick(s) for him I'd he has to be moved for cap reasons.

Maybe take some of that into account next time. smile

good on you !

its rare people on here look at what shaw does rather then focus on his cap
given he was top 3 goal scoring all year and our best faceoff % guys as our only RH faceoff capable player
i say he's earned his paycheck more then lets say Hagelin in PIT or Parise in Min playing third for 4-7.5 M
