Description
Sorry that you're effectively seeing the same Oilers AGM from me every time I post one; I'm really trying to "perfect" what an ideal end to the season would look like if the team opts to maximize assets at this year's deadline.

Something dawned on me this morning though: Edmonton has two of the best potential rental C's on their team. Guys like Tavares, Bozak, or even Sedin most likely aren't going anywhere. This means the Oilers could probably net a really decent return on guys like Strome and Letestu, which is why the return in this AGM is slightly higher than it has been in my previous attempts.

I've come down on my value for Maroon, but I'm still bullish on getting Barbashev in return. Maybe I'm closer now?

Cammalleri and Davidson trades are more realistic now; spare parts don't net more than a 6th. Tampa gets depth scoring and Florida gets an improvement on Weegar.

The Brossoit deal is a minor-league deal between the two teams. The Texas Stars are in the dumps when it comes to goaltending; reunite Brossoit with the coach he had in the WHL and bring back a much-needed prospect that could slot into the bottom-6 of the Condors.

Swap of picks with MON are to satisfy Montoya trade condition.

I'd be curious to hear why you think that. A lot of AGMs have his value at around a 2nd+. He's a young, controllable asset for the Penguins that would contribute more to the twilight of their dynasty than their 1st would. Pittsburgh doesn't quite have the assets to draw the cost of a 2nd+, so I feel like a 1st and eating the $612K Rowney is costing them is fair value.

Ryan Strome for a 1st? No way.

    Strome isn’t even a center.

We’d like an actual center back for our 1st and anyways, it’s looking more likely we trade Sprong than our 1st(hint hint).

Not implying Sprong for Strome, but I don’t think PIT will trade their 1st this year.

Then let's work on something involving Strome: a couple posters here have recognized that Strome to PIT is a good idea. If a 1st is out of the question, and you're not implying a Strome/Sprong swap, then what about a 2nd+? I'm not fluent on the Penguin's system, care to help me out?

    What are your biggest needs?

Instead of a 2nd+, what about Sheary straight up. Wouldn’t happen in real hockey because that’s not JR’s focus(trading roster players), but in terms of fantasy, it seems fair.

Rebuilding organizational depth, so I reckon the Oilers are strictly going to look for picks or prospects. I hold Strome's value at about slightly more than Letestu's, so something in the ballpark of what his return was. Bellerive + 2019 2nd?

No thanks to trading Bellerive. He’s arguably our best prospect this year. He’s producing the same rate as Sprong as a junior and he’s a year younger doing that. Plus he’s on a much worse team. More like Bjorkvist(2016 2nd)+2nd.

I think I could live with that. I'll edit the original trade then!

He’s not a very good center. I wouldn’t want him as our 3C.
