I'm not retaining on Shaw for such a long time to get a 3rd round pick and a reclamation project who isn't making any progress.

Some people might think this isn't a good trade but I believe this can Work out well considering how many LHD the oilers have JHS needs a fresh start and those picks can draft us a RHD and a RW looks good tho thanks for putting it into the islanders perspective

Please someone explain to me why adding a puck moving defenseman who can't play defense is going to help the islanders make the playoffs? They need defense not Klefbom

Do you see what they trot out there nightly? Why would you not improve the position? Not losing a roster player either

ya i don't like that idea either i would go no retention. I think he still has the ability but would need some more nhl time in a 3rd or 2nd line wing role so he could show his offensive side. he will either sink or swim but that doesn't fix mtl needing centers and taking away shaw that can play center if need be doesn't help

Detroit would never take on Greiss contract for Mrazek, Mrazek is a pending RFA that probably doesn't get re-qualified we'd do Greiss for Howard Howard making $5.3 million for 1 more year Greiss making $3.333 million for 2 more years but that's about it.
