Why buyout Hagelin? He's a decent roster player albeit he hasn't been the best offensively, he's quite valuable

I like Haggerty. He’s a beast, but at best a 4th liner.

I don't believe his 11 goals in 114 games warrants a $4 million salary.

Fair point, but again, he contributes greatly with his speed on the PK, if you want him gone that badly a trade would be better

Riley Sheahan is still and RFA he can't be signed for less then what he's currently making, Unless GMJR doesn't qualify him and then he becomes a UFA and can sign anywhere.

I imagine Sheahan taking the same approach as Schultz 2 years ago. He's in a comfortable location that knows how to maximize his value, which will let him cash out the following season.

Pretty sure that he has to be at least qualified for his current cap hit of $2.075 million, But could be wrong.

No, Schultz was not qualified after making like 3.5 mil. He was subsequently resigned as a UFA for around 1.5. So qualifying is not a prerequisite.

Correct GMJR could decide not to re-qualify Sheahan let him become a UFA and then sign him for less but of course Sheahan would need to want to sign for a lesser deal.
