Halak is UFA going into the summer. Because of that I think we could get more than a 5th rounder out of NYI. Prly 2nd-3rd. Especially if we're retaining salary on Howard's deal.

I don't think we'd be able squeeze a 1st + for green out of LA. If we're talking Tampa or Washington, then maybe b/c their 1st rounders are probably going to be in the 28-31 range. With LA it could be more in the 16-20 range. That's a big difference if you ask me.

Also, I don't think I'd trade AA unless he's explicitly said he wants out and you have to get somthing for him. Not even for Faulk.

i dont see NSH giving up the only RD who he'll play with .
when Ellis was out Subban stayed on 2nd and a LD took top RD spot.
the first 20 games they played together Subban hung him out to dry on his
turnovers resulting in a 2v1 and Josi would stare down PK as he has always
had a D partner he could rely on

its more like Josi or Subban goes then Ellis because Ellis has chemistry with both LD
Subban's a 1 man show on a team renowned for a team oriented D core

If we were to deal Howard to the Isles, Then the Isles more then likely would want to move Greiss instead of Halak if Detroit were dealing Mrazek then Halak would work. Would be totally surprised if the Preds had interest in both Nyquist and Tatar and doubt we'd get both Ellis+1st for them. As much as i would love to add Faulk on D i think AA+3rd doesn't cut it. Pretty sure Friedman was stoned when he suggested AA for Justin Faulk.
