Initial Creation Date: Feb. 8, 2018
Published: Feb. 9, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Who says no here? Reinhart constantly pushed down lineup, and labeled as underperforming gets a change of scenery and Buffalo gets the young, promising defensive prospect they've wanted for awhile.

Chiarelli, no stranger to trading former top picks, swaps a guy he sent down for a quarter of the season, for a bonafide 50 point scorer and gives RNH and McDavid a fresh winger, while shedding Slepyshev who he hates and getting back a promising defensive prospect.

Benning has already given up on Pouliot, consistently healthy scratching him now after a bad little mid season stretch, he gets a solid 3rd line scorer for him.

Pass on the EDM, VAN, WSH and DAL trades, soft returns. Tolvanen is not getting moved.

You're saying the Rangers pass on those?

Buffalo passes. Reinhart had 40 games where he was invisible, but the last few weeks hes been producing with a few multi point games. He goes to the net at least, but if he can produce consistently i want more for him.

Sure, you want Deangelo and a 2nd? Deangelo has been a top 20 possession guy in all of hockey. Would be on your 2nd pair right now and running your power play. Crushes Reinhart in Expected goal rate and such. Don't think you're going to get a better D prospect for him.

Nope. We are not trading reinhart for deangelo, who spent most of the year in AHL

That's a function of the soon to be fired coach who (as a judgment of his player evaluation) put Nick Holden on the top pair despite Deangelo being our 4th best defenseman (after Shattenkirk, McD, Skjei) . Don't think the AHL point is valid.

Numbers, shnumbers. Tony D is bad and you can tell by his actions and his face on the ice that he's trouble. The next Etem, except he's d.

I think as a person, he's a shithead. As a hockey player, I think he's a great possession, puckmoving defenseman, who is far and away our best powerplay QB with Shattenkirk down, There was never a reason for him to be sent down. I give him equal value to Honka right now. He's in our top 4 next year.

My friend, thank you for your criticism on my Rangers deadline outlook, here is mine on yours:

1. Deangelo is already a rag doll, he will not fetch Sam Reinhart. He's also young and the Rangers seem to be after that. 4th round picks aren't persuading Jason Botteril. 4/10

2. Quite unlikely the Oilers to trade JP, especially when it brings their cap crunch forward NOW. 2/10

3. Desharnais should probably fetch a 4th - good valuation 10/10

4. Again, Vesey is probably a guy they'll hold on to in trying to get younger. He'll benefit from Nash leaving. Vancouver is already patting themselves nicely on the back for reclaiming Pouliot so unlikely that they give him up as he fits their model right now. 4/10

5. UFA to be Rick Nash will not, I repeat, WILL NOT fetch a 1st and Eeli Tolvanen. Not even if he had 2 more years on his contract. 2/10

6. Pavalec for a 5th is good 9/10

7. Holden for a 3rd and a 6th is good - 10/10

8. Actually really like the McDonagh trade. Considering cap retained, they might even do a little better 10/10

9. Not quite sure Dallas will be willing to give that much for Zucc. The value is accurate but not sure its a fit.
