I was writing a short summary for all your trades to help you learn... But someone who thinks Gorges the defenseman (who has 124 points over 14 seasons (roughly 9 points a season) for a young, top caliber defenseman like Chabot (his upside is high... not low lol) can't be helped.

Gorges is currently enjoying watching the Sabres (who have one of the worst defenses in the NHL) from the comfort of a Lazy Boy in the box
LicMysak liked this.

If you like, I can go through every of these trades and what's wrong with them.

Ahem

CGY trade = Shinkaruk has pretty much lost his value, he is currently an 23-year-old AHL player who's future in NHL was pretty much sealed when he was traded from VAN to CGY. It's likely he'll be never making a big difference in the big leagues.

ARI trade = That's actually stupid for both teams. Arizona could very well do that trade, because Arizona can actually afford to bring pretty much any deal that Karlsson wants. Both of these d-men are going to be UFAs after next season. But I doubt that neither of those players will be staying in their former teams because their former teams are quite weak. If you want to trade Karlsson, please trade it for future assets, not for another UFA who would be pretty much as hard to keep as the former one.

NYI (smith) trade = C'mon, Smith is not that good, and NYI isn't in such a need for that kind of center. They're looking for a D, if I'm correct.

CHI trade = Ottawa would lose in that trade. They wasted a great amount of good assets for Duchene, so it's pretty much pointless just trade him for a less skillful version of himself.

ANA trade = Because of Anderson's new contract, ANA cannot take his contract. They need to save money for Gibson's new contract.

MTL trade = Ok that's decent for Habs. They need a C. But considering that Byron has been pretty decent this season, they'd probably skip. I'd offer Pageau to a contending team such as PIT. Would likely get a better return.

FLA trade = Säteri has been a savior for Panthers, he has been very good. If they decide to trade him, I bet they wouldn't trade him for a goalie. They already have Luongo and Reimer.

DET trade = Do you even watch hockey? Franzen will never play again due to concussion. His trade value is nothing. That is a definition pointless trade.

NYI (pääjärvi) trade = He was just claimed from waivers. Nobody will spend a pick on him, unless they really need a winger. NYI does not.

LA (macarthur) trade = MacArthur won't be playing this season either. Nobody will pay anything for him because of the risk that he cannot play ever again.

NSH trade = Center depth is basically the thing Preds don't need, they already have 6-7 of them. Besides, both of those C's were taken from waivers, so that pretty much tells how "valuable they are"

CBJ = Yeah, who trades a potential TOP-6 forward and a second round pick for two fourth-liners? Probably you would, but any sane manager wouldn't.

LA (white) trade = White has potential to be a TOP6 forward, and you'd like to trade him to a forward that is declining badly and has a horrendous contract.

You know what? The more I'm going through this, the more I think this is just a joke. There's bunch of trades more, but I'm already done. Point has been made pretty much clear.

I mean. Sure he has some playoff experience... but Chabot is young, currently plays with Erik Karlsson, was the backbone of Canada at the world juniors in 2015/16... (they win silver that year, lost to an absolute terror of an American team). Chabot will likely play more playoff games than Gorges will in his career
