THE REAL DEAL

Created by: PredsFan76
Team: 2017-18 Nashville Predators
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 13, 2018
Published: Feb. 13, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Nick Kypreos reported yesterday that Neal is being shopped. If true, this is the most I'd give up for one more run with Nealer. I also added Fisher as expected and Tolvanen due to reports that NSH is looking to sign him after Jokerit gets bounced (probably) by SKA or CSKA in the second round of the KHL playoffs in late February or early March. Preds would remain under adjusted cap and no one would have to clear waivers if the timing is right along with some proper use of the system. I don't see how this team isn't the favorite to win the Cup if this happened to occur.

VGK will lose him to the UFA to make a run this year... they won't deal him... Also your offer is kind of insulting to a team who's trying to make a run for the cup.

Like I said, "If true." Kypreos could just be stirring the pot, but who knows. Also this is what I'd give. I still believe Vegas is trying not to be a one year wonder and this would help that cause. They get future picks and potential roster players for Neal instead of nothing. I know they want a Cup like everyone else but I don't see them going All-In. If they want a player back for Neal to take his place then it would never happen. For example, why would the Preds give up Smith to get Neal? That's just made a lateral move or a slight improvement at best for a player who's leaving next year regardless. Besides, Vegas could sell him for picks and prospects then resign him next summer, then they get both.

Right, I'm not saying to make a lateral move, but a team rich in RHD could give them the defenseman they need in exchange for... This way they wouldn't be losing him for nothing and they'd be gaining a piece that would help them in their playoff push. Don't know who you have in Milwaukee that's ready to go??? but that is their need right now from what I see...

It's hard to tell with the D-men on the Ads. They're buried behind the best blue line in the NHL and NSH likes to move guys along slowly. If there was a guy there that could contribute now it would probably be Carrier. He's our second best D prospect behind Fabbro.
