NYR Rebuild

Created by: GSMITH17G
Team: 2017-18 New York Rangers
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 16, 2018
Published: Feb. 16, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Winnipeg goes all in and gets 2 playoff runs with Mcd. Rangers get back a current roster fwd in Connor with upside and a D prospect as a potential replacement in Stanley.

Holden helps Toronto depth D for playoffs.

Dallas gets a the speedster while Rangers keep bulking their D prospect pool.

Now the one everyone will say it wont happen your crazy.....Its been known by many insiders Nashville is ALL IN for Nash. I believe Nashville is all in for the cup right now as you can see by the youth they moved out earlier this season. I dropped the 1st rounder to a 2nd due to Tolvanen but could be a conditional or not.

Dont think NYR needs to retain salary on any McDonagh deal. Stanley could be a bust (see Dylan McLRath) but an intriguing prospect, so i think it would need to be another prospect as well.
I'd love Connor but he's playing in the top 9 & on the PP & so i think they be hard pressed to move him in a legitimate cup run. Maybe 2018 1st, & 3rd , JACK ROSLOVIC, LOGAN STANLEY & BRENDAN LEMIEUX

Holden for a 4th sounds about right ...

Nash deal is interesting. Preds are deep on the back end so Tovalen is a big chip for them, The conditional aspect of the pick could work as i'm hearing Nashville is a front runner for Nash as well as Dallas so they could be bidding against each other (as well as for Grabner)
Nash for 2018 1st & DANTE FABRO is my guess as a ceiling for Nash with Nashville. I like Toavalen but the Preds deep blue line makes me think FABRO would be easier for them to part with.

If Grabner got a 2018 1st from Dallas, i'd call it a win. If not, a 2nd & 3rd over 2018/2019 & Roope Hintz would be a win, maybe to a lesser degree.

Good stuff ....

Yea I can see what you are saying about Connor. I just feel with him you get a immediate NHL player as where Roslovic is a center and with Lias and Filip I think a winger can be more advantageous for the rebuild.

The Nash trade right now is a hard one as all the insiders are saying many teams are hot on him. Hence why he has been moved up to the #1 on the TSN trade bait list. But Fabro would be a good pull as well but like you said would require a #1 for sure.
