You cant sign gaudette and pettersson for that much. Maximum a player can make on an ELC is 925k. Karlsson deal isnt that great. Juolevi can turn out like karlsson who knows. Tanev is already an established defenseman who can play on both ends of the ice and is one of the best defensive defenseman in the league. Goldobin has been great at every level but he hasnt played enough NHL games to just give up on him, hes good. And that first is a lottery pick. Could win us dahlin. That nashville trade is garbage. Vanek and gudbranson can each get a better return than that by themselves. Amd i definitely dont want that overrated overpayed overtempered bad kane.

Karlsson would improve your defense immediately. I understand Juolevi is young, but are you really willing to wait a couple years to see if he'll pan out when you could have one of the best defensemen in the league right now? Make the 2018 1st lottery protected if you have to so you can still have a shot at Dahlin. And that "overrated overtempered bad kane" would be the 2nd best goal-scorer on your team. I also wouldn't be talking about Kane being overpaid when you have Loui Eriksson on your team.

Jokes on you, eriksson is a great two way player. His production is better this year too. Tanev, juolevi, and a lottery 1st (possibly dahlin) and goldobin is too much for a rebuilding team to give away.

Expensive deal, but that's what it would take (and maybe more) to get a generational d-man like that. I'd wait to see if Canucks get 1st overall (Dahlin) though. Another caveat is even with Karlsson, we are nowhere near cup contenders until 2-3 years from now when our young players develop into legit 1st and 2nd liners. . Might be better to let the kids develop rather than try to fast forward the rebuild. I think Kane would be a good chance to take... makes team toughness go up and will benefit Boesser and Pettersson play in a more protected environment.

Where the team is now. i dont see that trade happening, karlsson might not even stay after next year. there is no point making that trade. especially if that pick turns into dahlin.I would do that trade if canucks were a playoffs team but we are rebuilding. no point wasting young talent and karlssons prime years.
