Sabres - What Could Have Been

Created by: worldwidesensei

Description
Keep the draft picks after the tear down. Obviously, things such as draft order may have been affected, but it is conceivable that we complete the McEichel tank and are still bad enough to draft Nylander and Mittelstadt,

I think if i had to play this game i would have drafted a different forward from reinharts class- draisitl and nylander look obvious, pastrnak would have been too much of a reach at 2 (at least at the time). I think the d of team hindsight is still pretty uninspiring, it still needs work. Maybe one of the d from nylanders class- sergachev is most obvious.

At the time, I personally wanted Reinhart and I am still happy with that pick. Draisatl was the only other player I wanted them to draft. I'd say that's a very solid D moving forward. I did want a Dman (Sergachev or Chychrun) at the time, but with this D, I would have stayed with Nylander.

While they're not world-beaters, I like this D lineup a lot better than what we currently have on the ice. And you didn't really take any crazy draft liberties there, you just reversed the trades.
