Description
Yeah probably bad trades each way. I did this before but didn't save. Was a little different but you get the idea of it.
note: Ericsson moves to a modified ntc next year. Would give him to anyone for a 7th Rd pick and retain $.
Zetterburg will probably retire after next year if not sooner. Would have plenty of cap space for next year $30+ mill, sign tavares, $11mill easy, Larkin, burtuzzi, mantha, frk, AA, combined $20 mill area. Try and move Howard or play out contract, Trading E, and Z retiring after next year with cap gives $15+mill to extend Karllson & Duchene. Reminder cap moving to $80mill next year and possibly higher year after along with another expansion draft in near future.

Yeah, not sure on the trades. Tampa & Toronto trades are fine, not sure about the Carolina trade, thats a maybe.

I think the Nashville trade is a no, i think a closer deal on that one would be Tatar for Fabbro straight up, or take Fabbro out of the deal.

The Ottawa deal is a hell no. You might get away with dealing all of that for Duchene, MAYBE Karlsson, but not both.

And i wouldnt trade anything for JT, because if he wants to be in Detroit then he will consider signing with us in the offseason.
If you trade a 1st and 3rd and he doesnt resign and we're not making the playoffs then what was the point?

Also you have to take into account that if Zetterberg retires before his contract is up, we're still responsible for his cap hit for the rest of his contract term, so there will be no cap relief for him retiring.

Getting there, but i think JT's rights to negotiation are worth more than a 5th next year. It probably would look like a conditional 2019 2nd round, which becomes a 4th if he chooses not to sign.
