Description
Habs win Lottery...trade pick on draft day.

Dahlin would be great, but maybe having some more assets in a deep draft would be better. Only if lottery falls in certain order would this work.

        So just t be clear, the Habs would win the draft lottery and then trade the next Erik Karlsson in Rasmus Dahlin for prospects that may or may not ever pan out. If Bergevin is not out the door by the draft, I'd imagine he'd be the out the door soon after that deal.

        Boqvist is the next Karlsson
        Dahlin was compared to the greatest Swede to date Nik Lidstrom as he's a defensive D first who produces points .
        where as Boqvist and Karlsson spend a lot of time in the OZ.

        if we could flip a 1st overall into two top 15 picks i'd be happy but the only thing i dont like is the EDM trade
        just as we get a secondary top 6 center to play with chucky we bring in RNH, i mean whats the point if Poehling and Evans were signed as
        the only way either will sign is if they are on a roster spot as Poehling can just develop in NCAA then go UFA his senior year like Evans will if you put him in the AHL

        trade Lehkonen,Fucale and the 13th overall pick to EDM for their 6th overall and Mantha (likely a career AHL player but he's a legacy )

        It's definitely a deep draft and 2 top 15 picks would be great for any rebuilding team, I just think it would take a crazy GM to make such a deal, trading away a number 1 pick like that. And yes, it's possible Boqvist is the next Karlsson, but he is still at least a year or 2 away. I would especially hope that Montreal would take the time to let any prospects develop properly. If they are going to rebuild and make at least some of the moves above, they need to do a rebuild the right way.

        i agree unless we can flip that pick into a Boqvist and a Zadina(or Tkchuck) its a hard sell
        two top 6 picks in this years draft i'd totally give up Dahlin for but if i can't have a Boqvist and a top winger then i'm out.

        2 quality players in the top 5 isnt an impossible trade , Burke pulled it off with the Sedins
        i'd just have to figure MTL takes Dahlin either way based on the fact MB is no Burke
