Best Case Scenario

Description
Name Says it all. I know it doesn't leave much cap space and therefore room for call up, etc. just having a little fun. That Boedker deal is still killing me. If cap goes up more than $78 (I don't think it will based off of revenue and Canadian dollar), then that's good.

If 0 players get hurt all year, sure! Might just maybe want to open up some cap space. Trade Paul Martin as a package with a younger player instead of buying him out. Get an extra D or winger or even a pick or 2, but don't buy him out.

Bro, that's why its called "Best Case Scenario". Seriously, I even admitted that in the description and said this is just for fun. Don't be a jerk and one star rate it... Btw, nobody is taking Paulie, if someone wanted him, they would have claimed or he would have been traded already.

I'm not sure Grabner is what we need. I think we actually look better without Grabner, but with JT and Dell resigned.

The Hertl deal is right around what I'd expect him to get. I would prefer 4.5m/5 year.

Tierney will be interesting. I'd love to get him on a 3 year 2.5m deal, but I don't think your bridge contract is far off.

I appreciate the respectful feedback man. I chose Grabner for his ES scoring. Grabner wont be it now that we have Kane. I just wasn't sure DW was going to pursue, and yes I think he resigns. I don't think we resign Jumbo, I think he retires. Two bum knees will just be too much.

The average bridge deal over the last 5 years, which is historically what Doug Wilson does, is 3 per for 2 years (see Hertl's deal). I took off some dollars to add term. Tierney probably wont get more than that from SJ because he has had one good season. I could see him getting 2 year at 3 mil and if he repeats his performance he'll get extended July 1 2019.

Regarding Kane, I was shocked DW went out and got a scoring winger and depth center just because he said that was exactly what he wanted openly. With the cap where it is and where it might go, I like the Tierney and Hertl deals.

Sadly, Thornton being resigned will depend on how he performs if he comes back before the season ends. I'm sure he'll want to, but the price will be a question mark. It really is tough to think about after so many years.

Man, I cant agree with you more about Jumbo. I have a gut feeling DW acquired Kane because he knows Jumbo is coming back, and he wants one more Cup run, I just don't know how effective he'll be. I have two bum ankles. After the surgery on the first, I was able to well enough to maintain my 20 mile per week running regiment. When I hurt the second, I went from 20 to 5-7 per week with significantly more effort, so I cant imagine two knees.
