Not for that garbage offer he wont, Pretty funny the exact same offer was offered to Mike Green not to long ago.

Connolly plays twelve minutes per night, with 55% zone starts and has 12 even strength goals.

Kane plays 20, 60%, and has 14.

They're about even at playmaking, but Connolly is twice as good of a goal scorer, so the Caps pass.

Also, Bowey is untouchable.

Kane has a much better corsi relative to teammates this year, but Connolly's was better the last two years. Kane scored more in juniors and was drafted fourth overall. Connolly was drafted sixth overall a year later and is signed next year for 1.5M.

I would trade Connolly for O'Reilly. Not for Kane. He is a better goal scorer on a better contract already than Kane, and it goes through next year.

Ninth in points among rookie defensemen, and currently has withing 2% of the same corsi and zone starts as Mike Green, plus more even strength points per minute by almost a quarter.

Now, I don't think Mike Green is a top four D on the Caps this year, unless he suddenly turns left handed... but Bowey is young and improving.

You're forgetting to add in the BUF suck factor.

Kane (Connolly) rel GF% 7 (-7)
Kane rel Corsi 4 (-2)
Kane xGF% 50 (40)

Kane also brings speed, toughness and can play (and score) short-handed.

Connolly is on a nice deal, but I think Kane would bring much more to WAS in the playoffs (Connolly didn't do anything last year)

That's funny. Connolly is 25 and has never averaged more than 13min per game in a season. There is a reason for that.
