Mark Stone is the one Untouchable the sens have. He's not for sale. Even if he was, you're miles away on value

100% agree - I think you'd need a can't miss prospect, a couple high first round draft picks and a current player. The Sens are crazy high on him.

Actually, now that I think about it, you might be able to get stone if you took Ryan's full contract and gave up Konecny

Is there any chance that Stone doesn't want to resign in Ottawa at the end of this season? If so, I think the price you mentioned decreases.

I don't think so (on your question, and the impact you suggest). He's got zero leverage as an RFA, and seems happy in the city.

I don't see why Stone would want to stay in Ott, clearly beginning the start of a big rebuild like the rangers.
I would happily add Weal, Phillys 1st this year (as long as we get STL 1st) and leberge in the trade although I do think that's a bit steep, plus they'll be able to at least a 1st in 19 and prospect for Simmonds next yr. That is a pretty big haul.

I don't think the Sens have any want of Simmonds.

Why hasn't Stone already resigned if he's so happy in the city?? There must be a good reason for it as Ott where expecting to have a really good season. so you would think he would have signed on July 1st or at least last off-season and not gone into this season not knowing!! Maybe he's had a change of mind

I didn't say anything about him giving a hometown discount, but he's an rfa- no rush. And IF Ottawa was going to trade him, it wouldn't be for something like that. I don't see where you think a pending rfa needs to be traded - another year of team control.
