I do not think you will get 3rd round picks for Benn, Schlemko or Morrow. Probably 5th rounders. But I agree to move all three of them. I would also move Alzner and Petry. Alzner because he is being paid for top four minutes but plays more like a 5 or 6 and Petry, because his d-zone coverage is terrible. His offense is good but his minus 27, I think leads the team or is near leader of team.

I think you’d be surprised what they can get for those lugs hahah, habs definitely are not trading Petry with the offensive season he’s having and no one will want to touch Alzner with that contract... just going to have to hope he’s better next year. There’s going to be a young influx on the back end next year so some of the older guys will be taking a seat no matter what

I see both Mete and Juulsen as regulars next season. I would like an upgrade in the 3rd pairing. I find MTL is too soft in 3rd pairing. Need a little nasty and big hitters. I also can see Mete and Juulsen being D partners in 2 to 3 yrs. The would compliment each other very well.

Don’t know if you’ll be getting a nasty big hitter but Valiev who they got from the leafs today is said to be on the cusp of a full time 3rd pairing job. Highly touted as a good defensive defender who can also move the puck... wouldn’t be surprised if he and Rychel play a lot lost deadline

I think ideally for Montreal they either trade or draft a young d with more potential that mete or Juulsen to play with Weber and then Juulsen and Mete can be paired with Alzner and petry

I heard same thing about Taliev. Would be nice to move out dead wood and bring in good D-men. So far I really like Juulsen. Plus we have good draft picks and should be able to draft well and sign 2 good UFA's with cap space. Depending on Taliev, I also like Andrew Nielsen and Tyler Lewington, both a hard hitters with some nasty to their game. Good on PK too.

Agree although I feel the biggest problem is the amount of dead weight their is on the back end which might end up having to be buried in the AHL or shipped out on waivers. Lots of potential to create a young mobile D core lead by Weber

Many people have Patch being traded and Dahlin drafted to MTL. I doubt either happen but for the fun of it, I did a roster with both those scenarios, to see what team would look like. https://capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/607139

You'd like to hope Juulsen and Mete can be your 3rd pairing...Petry and Alzner your 2nd...keep Benn as your 7th and rotate him to spell the others...just need someone to play with Weber...Defensively were terrible this year and obviously the stats will reflect that...especially when you're mixing the pairings so much...Petry and Alzner should bounce back...and Price should bounce back which will upgrade the defense as a whole...too many people want to thrash everything during an off year.

Ok....stop saying the playets we got for Plekanec ate highly touted...they once were but not now...Plekanec was netting us a 2nd round....don't think the Leafs felt bad for us and tossed in 2 highly touted prospects without some kind of return...unless Baun was a very highly touted prospect...c'mon guys get real...they may turn out to be serviceable players...but stop woth all the hype!!

Honestly I think there’s a 90% chance that patioretty gets traded before the draft... if you’re going to address the teams biggest needs that’s your best bet for getting a young Center. As far as Dahlin the odds aren’t there but with the update lottery format there’s a shot if they finish 4th or 3rd last.

Agree Petry and Alzner should bounce back but Morrow schlemko and Benn should be moved if the opportunity arises... need more skill and speed with defensive prowess

Chill man, wasn’t saying he’s highly touted to be a number one, just saying a lot of people with good hockey knowledge (Bob Mackenzie etc...) were saying he’s ready to break through and play a full time third pairing role. Which is exceptional for a 22 year old. Rychel is more of a darkhorse but you never really know... would be tough to play against on the 4th line. Stop assuming that I think they’ll both be 50 point getters

I sure hope so. When Davidson got traded from the Oilers for a 3rd round pick, I knew teams would overpay. We got a very good deal for Plecky. So hopefully, teams overpay for Patch, Benn, Morrow, Schlemko, Niemi. Heck I would even move Alzner and Petry. If teams want to overpay, why not.
