<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BuFfaLOFaN</b></div><div>Marco Scandella?</div></div>
I don't disagree that he would be a good or even better fit but Buffalo is finally seeing some success so I don't see them trading him in season. They're blue line is pretty crowded so maybe in the off season they would consider it but I was thinking more about prying a player from a tanking team

This is laughable. You do realize that last year Ghost put up 65 points... 12 more than drouins career high. Also he would fill an important role compared to drouin who could replaced by Suzuki or Ylonen. Also drouin has a piss poor work ethic

Lucic to MTL in Drouin deal
I like this move but I feel like if Edmonton pays a 1st round pick for a cap dump (which they will have to do for lucic) then they won’t want to take alzner back.

MONTREAL Poe Poe
As a habs fan I think this is a fair trade but considering the circumstances around Centers in Montreal I don’t think they want to even consider trading one right now. Pretty sure they feel pretty confident in a Domi-Kotkaniemi-Danault-Poehling combo up the middle next season

Habs 19-20
Free Agent Signings: I can see them signing both Armia and Lehkonen but Lehkonen is worth more... the coaching staff and players love him and he’s a great all around player just has been snake bitten offensively. I can see them signing Reilly however it’ll probably for less than 2 mill... if kulak keeps up how’s hes playing with the big club I can see him getting a similar deal but for less than Reilly. Hudon will probably be traded or let go at the end of the year unfortunately. Doesn’t seem to be appreciated and is underutilized. Also can’t see Montreal going after panarin... I don’t think bergevin will make a big splash in free agency until after this team makes consecutive playoff appearances. I like trading away schlemko and Deslauriers but Not sure how I feel about the trade with Carolina

Habs shouldn't trade Price/Weber : Here's why
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CD282</b></div><div>I find it interesting that Tatar has a "good cap hit" and Lucic has a "bad cap hit", when both players got just 34 points last year and Lucic had more points the previous 2 years.</div></div>
Lucic is 3 years older, has 700,000 more against the cap and is under contract 3 years longer than Tatar. Also Tatar has managed to score 20 goals 5 straight seasons including the last 2 where he played the majority of his games with the stinky red wings

If we have a surplus at LW the last guy traded should be Lehkonen... this guys going to be a big player on the team going forward. Also I think they should keep Tatar. Good cap hit and has potential for a 25-25 season

I have a feeling it could be Vilardi or Clague yes. If it’s Vilardi MTL will use the LA pick to get a D and if it’s Clague they’ll likely draft a C

Also worth remembering that Montreal is targeting more than just tavares in Free agency and that 1 million is quite a chunk of change and can make a big difference

Maybe it has to do with RFA status at the end of the deal ...</div></div>
It’s 100% RFA status... he’ll still have value when the contracts up

Montreal Draft and Onward
If you think that two seconds are worth the exact same as a top 10 Pick you’re crazy... there’s probably like a 10% chance of getting a regular NHLer with a second round pick compared to a 60-70% chance of getting a good NHL regular in the top 10

He’s definitely not top 4 you’re right but this signing, and the signing of the two Czech D show a paradigm shift, to sign younger, faster more offensive players than pylons like Benn, Schlemko and Alzner. I’d expect 2 of the 3 to be phased out by the beginning of the season

I agree that ROR is worth Patioretty and a first but he’s not worth Zadina... maybe a late first but not a top 3

Look at what TB did collecting all the captains they could find, it's a good strategy imo. Also I like any trade that gets us Svech and Zadina to go with our young core.</div></div>
I agree also I think it’s pretty fair... Roy and Bean are equal to first round picks each but Zadina is a better prospect than both and patioretty still has 1st round value... Byron and Shaw can both be flipped for 2nds each too

Carolina is probably going into win now mode with a new GM, I can understand a rebuilding team not wanting him but a 30 goal scorer can help anyteam
