That's a pretty creative trade! That said, I would like to see Buffalo retain salary in that deal and/or a draft pick coming back from Buffalo. That may require the Flames to give up a prospect, however.

Retain salary sure even 50% if needed, draft pick not a chance. I agree it is creative. I agree the value exchange may be fair. I think Calgary gets what they need and Buffalo gets another bottom pairing defense man. I think they have 4 now so Stone would make 5. I do like that he is one of the Flames top PK d men.

So sure why not, I think Pominville was a throw in when the trade was made with the Wild.

I would like to give you 5 stars but Buffalo does not get a player that really helps them.
