Zucc will be a good rental option next year, but look at the prospects involved in rental trades that took place today... none are as good as Kostin. The market may be different next year, but I don't know if GMs are interested in moving top prospects for rentals - not to mention that the Blues GM has publicly spoken against it.

Yeah, I understand. It was more of a move to just show that he wouldn't be on the roster next year, but it's a full year of him not 20 games and a playoff run. Players tend to go for more at the draft and the longer he is on the team, the higher the chance he will re-sign there.

True, my fault for jumping to the conclusion that this would be a deadline move - I must be too caught up in today's action. In fact, there is a good chance that STL is in the market for a top6 forward this summer and Zucc would fit the bill.
