Line by line based on your line up.

Line 1: all 3 are creative and can cause havoc offensively. This might also force them to smarten up and play good D.
Line 2: Danault seems to do well with Patch. Lehkonen is super smart and great in D-zone but he is either snake bitten or over evaluated on offense.
Line 3: Hudon hustles and Gallagher is playing his best hockey. I am not a big fan of De La Rose but last night he played amazing. If he can play like that on regular basis, he becomes valuable.
Line 4: I have never been a fan of A. Shaw, ever since his days in the OHL. He is good in spurts, but over a full season is overpaid. Byron is good but not a 4th line player. Evans had a good NCAA career and might be better off in AHL for 1 yr or 2.
Line 5: I am a big fan of Deslauriers because he gives you exactly what a 4th line winger should give. Heavy hits and occasional glove drop. McCarron is a huge body but not sure where he plays. Does he do another year in the AHL or is it time to cut ties.
Line 6: L. Shaw gives you a good 4th line presence. Can play C or RW and hits well and bigger body.

Defense:

D1: Mete is playing well and Petry is playing better on D. Both can skate and move puck.
D2: Alzner is playing better and using is size. He even came to his goalies defense yesterday which was nice to see. I am very impressed with Juulsen. His puck movement is much better than expected.
D3: Not a fan of Schlemko. Would love to see him gone. He still has 2 yrs at 2.1. Will be hard to move. Reilly, do not know much about him but agree he needs to play and be seen.
D4: Not a big fan of Benn, but he played a very sound game last night. Lots of smart plays with plenty of chatter. Same thing for Valiev as I said about Reilly. He needs to play and be seen.
D5: Love Weber but he is shut down until next year not a bad thing. Come back healthy.

G1: Lindgren is weird. He plays crap in AHL but plays amazing in NHL. He played awesome last night. Play him and he is probably the #2 for next few years.
G2: Niemi had terrible stats when he arrived but he is playing amazing with MTL. Is it a coincidence he is reunited with his goalie coach from his days with Chicago.
G3: I love Price, it is a huge contract and I hope it does not bite MTL is the rear in coming years. Make sure he is super healthy and let him take his time. Lindgren and Niemi playing well.

Guys like Lehkonen and Hudon have substancial offensive upside but are definitely snake bitten. Lindgren doesn’t play poor in the AHL, his stats are poor because he has a very bad team in front of him. AHL not an easy league for goalies. Evans will likely get a chance this season in Montreal with Plekanec being traded.

One thing I like about Hudon, is he does not back down and goes forward. I think he might turn into something. Your comment is correct AHL is not an easy league but I saw him play several times in AHL and for some reason he looks and acts more confidant at NHL level. Evans, will be interesting. If De La Rose plays like he played last night, he will earn a spot on team next season. Can he bring it more consistantly?
