Cody Ceci is consistently the worst player on the Senators, and one of the worst in the NHL. At 24 years old, it's hard to see how the Senators or any GM in the league sees value of him. Take a look at some of his states here from Corsica: http://www.corsica.hockey/player-profiles/?player=CODY.CECI

You can clearly see that he's actually gotten WORSE every year. Time to cut bait and move on. Recoup whatever asset you can get, but I would seriously trade him straight up for a bag of pucks.

I am not even sure why I am answering to an opinion that is mostly made from corsi stats

It's been reported that there's been a lot of interest among GMs for Cody Ceci and you can bet that it's for more than a 2nd round pick. Obviously, corsi is not gospel for NHL teams (particularly without context), except for maybe the Arizona Coyotes. What a success story.

Since February 15th (so the 6 games since the Phaneuf trade), Cody Ceci has the best SAT (shot attempts) differential 5on5 on the team with Brassard (5 games). His SAT rel% is 7.34

    http://www.nhl.com/stats/player?aggregate=1&report=skatersummaryshooting&reportType=game&dateFrom=2018-02-15&dateTo=2018-02-28&gameType=2&playerPlayedFor=team.9&filter=gamesPlayed,gte,1&sort=shotAttempts

Maybe that has to do with Ceci not being paired with Phaneuf anymore, maybe that has to do with abandoning the idea of having Ceci as the shutdown D-man, maybe that has to do with Boucher having to abandon his outdaded and horrible system for Corsi, maybe that has to do with a bit of everything. So depending on the plan with Ceci going forward, your narrative could easily be out of the window and could only be the remains of a simple heavy dislike for a player. I have seen that for decades.
