dont forget in 2 weeks-ish when Evans is done NCAA senior year he's looking to come up and play for MTL to end the year like Boeser did in VAN.
if we dont clear a spot for the Hobey Baker nominee then like NJD and COL showed you'll see them walk

WOW!!!! 4.5M/year for Danault who has done nothing????? i stopped reading after that.
I usually chime in on people who are giving Danault north of 3M/year but this takes it to a whole new level

What exactly has Danault done to warrant 4.5M/year???

thats Patches type of money and he only got that after a 30 goal 65 pt. season.
Danault is never going to get close to those numbers.

Don't get me wrong - I like Danault, and think he's a capable 3c (filling in for 2c the odd times due to injury) - but you're way overvaluing a player who has proven nothing and that's just bad CAP management.

Give him a 2 year bridge deal (3 years max) - 2M - 2.5M/ year MAX.

the guy was leading MTL in points at once, and how do you expect him to be a superstar when his wingers are shaw and hudon

HAHAHAHA - Can you let me know when exactly he was "leading" MTL in points?
Nothing you say in your response warrants a 4.5M/year salary for Danault.
He's done nothing - irregardless of his wingers (and he's been paired more with Patches than anyone else)
Patches found ways to scoring 30+ goals a season consistently playing with a rotation of Cs including Plekanec and Desharnais.
Actually, the case can be made that since Patches has been paired with Danault his production has decreased - if it weren't for Radulov in 2017, Patches and Danault would NEVER have put up the numbers they did last season. This season Patches has been centered by Danault for most of the season and he's only at 17g - nowhere near his production of seasons past.
So again I'll repeat - what has Danault done to warrant a 4.5M/year salary -
The answer is simple - absoloutely nothing.
In fact, the argument can be made that he shouldn't even be a 2C - since playing with elite goal scorers isn't his thing.
He's a perfect 3C (ala Plekanec) and should not get anything north of 2.5M/year (2-3 years max).

Danault has barely played with patches this season. Patch has been playing with Drouin and byron at center. Danault was leading the habs around early January and stayed top 5 until he got injured. https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/teams/montreal-canadiens/line-combinations/

You're wrong .
Danault has played majority of this season with Patches - the link you supplied shows nothing in terms of line combinations and percentage used.
The link below will give you this information and it shows that Danault has been with Patches over 32% of the time (EV)

The next link shows you that Patches has been with Danault over 22% of the time (EV)

so what's your point?
I think you lost track yourself and you're just spilling out verbal diarrhea now
who cares about who he's been playing with recently - the majority of the season, he's been with Patches (including on the power play ) - you can fact check that with the links I supplied you if you don't believe me.
The discussion here was that Danault is nowhere near deserving of 4.5M salary.
I gave my reasons and one of them was that I pointed out that Danault, playing with Patches for most of the season has actually dropped Patches production - this is after Patches was able to have 30+ goal seasons with the likes of Desharnais and Plekanec.
Danault is a very capable 3C - and a good "fill in" 2C when injuries arise.
that doesn't warrant a huge pay rise to the tune of 4.5M.
he should be getting a 3 year 2.5M (max) deal.
