A Good Boston Squad

Created by: FryesLeapMaine
Team: 2018-19 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 5, 2018
Published: Mar. 5, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I think John Carlson could pick Boston. Theres also a complement in his contract with the 7x7. Maybe if he's tied with Boston and another team management asks him something like... How do you like being thought of as a "77"? Obviously he can't wear the Jersey, but I think it'd be a nice complement to suggest that he could be in the same ball park of Raymond Bourque and if he was tied with another team he'd probably pick the organization that made him feel better.

Nash comes back at a high price because of the lack of term. If he wanted 2 years I'd give him around 3M. I think he's made enough money in hi career anyways, what's left for him to do is win a cup.

Trades
BOS
  1. 2019 4th round pick (EDM)
  2. 2020 5th round pick (EDM)
Additional Details:
Boston gets to move up from an area of weakness in the draft (Benning, Mcintyre, Blidh, Johansson) to an area of somewhat strength. (Heinen, Bjork, O'Gara, Gabrielle, Fitzgerald, Sherman... I even like Swayman a lot)
EDM
  1. McQuaid, Adam
  2. 2019 6th round pick (BOS)
  3. 2020 6th round pick (BOS)
Additional Details:
Edmonton gets a player they could greatly use without actually losing a potential prospect from their system. They give up a little over 90 slots worth of moving up, but get to bring in the same amount of bodies to their system.

Just not realistic cap wise with all the young guns needing contract extensions soon. But wow this team looks good.....

Nash and Chara only 1 year. There is 9m. Cap ceiling will go up to 82-85m in the next couple years. There is another 7-10m. Nothing there that is going to limit them.

Yeah that what I was considering. The 1 year deal to Nash is the biggest impact and it, along with Chara expiring makes us comfortable for McAvoy Heinen and Carlo signings. I also think the Nash contract is plausible if we go deep in the playoffs and he has a lot of fun chasing a cup. He's made a salary of over 5M per year for 13 seasons..... I don't think he's going to chase the $ if it gave him a lesser chance to ever win a Cup. He's gotta be dieing to get to the finals again and unless the TBL or TML teams offer him a deal there may not be an equal or better option for him to win a cup in the east.
