This looks nearly perfect to me. I like that if we don't get a good lottery pick u can insert Kovalchuk into the 1st line right wing without losing much. Pateryn would be a depth signing, 7th or 8th dman, so i wouldn't mind going 2 years on him 850-900k per. Gilmour looks to be leading candidate for the 3rd pairing LD heading into next season. Pionk already earned his spot, whereas Deangelo has been very Michael DelZotto-ish. Love the Klefbom for Zuc trade, although you're not gonna be winning the fan friendly trade award for that 1. Its all about the team, and that trade gives us stability on the left side. The 1 thing i would look for is a 3rd line RW, and move Fast to 4th.

Finally some realistic contracts. Honestly, Skjei could get even less.

Zuc should def be moved and a trade to Dallas could work too. Maybe take back Spezza contract and a high draft pick.

This is nice but Edmonton would probs ask for a teeny bit more so you could insert Vesey because it saves a little bit of cap Plus he hasn’t played the way I expected him to after all that hype about him. For anyone who disagrees, Vesey’s 19 points in 66 games are 4th line numbers

Edmonton was willing to part with Klefbom at the deadline for a winger who could feed McDavid. Zucc would be perfect in that role, and this IS Edmonton, so they would probably also throw in Draisatl and a 1st lol.

Ironically while I was typing this up, Jimmy Vesey scored.

Lol the second he got a hat trick this is exactly what I thought of. But one good game doesn’t prove that ur good. I personally was expecting him to be a 20 goal scorer or at least a 30 point producer but he didn’t do either
JUICEBOX liked this.

Splitting hairs here a bit but Vesey and Spooner would likely get 500k-1m more on their contracts. Granted if Vesey gets near the expected 2.5 million it is likely with another year or two as well.
