Bring on the criticism
and no I don't want to actually trade Sprong yet but I'm not sure how theyre going to fit the guys that will need extended with the dead cap space in hunwick unless he turns his play around

I'd just keep Hunwick if we have to give up Sprong to trade him. That second round pick has no value to me since we are trying to win. Rust will get ~3m and Oleksiak will get ~2.5m IMO. Jarry deal is around the right number. Sheahan will get atleast 2.075m, due to the RFA status he has. He can only receive fewer than 2.075m from us if we DON'T qualify him for RFA status.

Would prefer to move Sheary and keep Sprong to fill his spot than move him to get rid of Hunwick.

I'd rather buy out Hunwick for cap hit of $1.2M next year, then 700K for two years after, if it's going to cost Sprong to move him. I feel like you could send Hunwick plus a 3rd or a middling prospect to Arizona or Buffalo or someone like that.
