Toronto fans would give you the moon for Tanev... and that is a lot of dough for Kane. Did he change his name to Patrick?

But does Jim Benning know that Toronto would give the moon for Tanev ?? And with Kane, I feel like VAN will do a reverse-hometown discount. I think playing with 1 of Boeser or Pettersson he can be effective in his hometown.

Toronto says yes without blinking.
I doubt you could move Eriksons horrible contract without giving up more and it looks like your repeating the horrible contract mistake with Kane. I also wouldn’t want his personal baggage on a young developing team like Vancouver.

Toronto wouldn't but the fans would. Something weird in the water over there.

Eriksson's is just as bad as Smith's, plus Smith is far less a better player than Ericsson, and even though NYR are going through a rebuild, Ericsson on the east-coast can put up 15 goals. If Kane has 'baggage' then why is he still in the league?

Raw skill. Winnipeg didn’t want him, Buffalo didnt want him, a team like San Jose has so many veteran leaders that they can deal with him. Incredibly talented tho still hasnt reached his full potential but probably never will, regardless 6X8 is a horrible contract even if he does turn it around.
