I was merely pointing out that Vegas has many expiring UFA contracts.

The big ones are Perron, Neal, Sbisa and certainly William Karlsson.

Does Vegas re-sign these guys or do they let them walk? Vegas has found themselves in a very unusual situation - a situation they weren't expecting. It's obvious William Karlsson is a no-brainer but Perron (30), Neal (30) & Sbisa (28) have potential to become albatross if Vegas commits to them long term - especially Perron.

Either way this will be an interesting summer for sure.

Forget about

I'm not sure how you can put Sbisa in the same sentence as Perron or Neal lmao. Plus Vegas has cap

Because Sbisa is still playing top 4 minutes.

Yes, of course Vegas has cap space but there is also a financial side to the game - so the question becomes does Vegas ownership/investors have the money? Most franchises outside of "The Original Six" operate on a budget, so you can bet Vegas has a budget for next season. You can bet they weren't expecting Vegas to be contenders right off the bat so does their instant success change their long-term plans? .... I mean it's kinda hard to toss away a plan... Successful businesses don't "play things by ear" or operate "day by day" they have an agenda, a model or a plan - in Vegas' case probably a 5-year plan. Make no mistake - at the end of the day Vegas is still a business hence their decisions will be about money..

You also have to remember Vegas has a lot of young talent and they don't want to commit long-term to too many veteran players because that will eat into their future budget set aside for them.

If I'm George McPhee I take it one year at a time with these vets. Sign them to the exact same salary they made this season, which is more than reasonable considering these vets signed their contracts when they were much younger and at their age had it not been for their career years they would be taking drastic pay cuts. And of course if history doesn't repeat itself and it turns out that the 2018 season was an anomaly then you trade the vets at the TDL, get the picks you were supposed to get the previous season and go back to plan A which is build a long-term contender through the draft.

Like I said it's very interesting. Vegas is already at a fork in the road. Do they go with their present team or do they stick to the plan and focus on their youngsters and develop them for future long-term success?

LOL ok, thanks for letting me know my comments are garbage...

You go build your NHL 18 nhl fantasy...

I usually don't stoop to these levels but since you insist on talking about who agrees with who and who has more popular Ideas it appears I do.....You have 2 likes in 59 posts I have 66 in 512 LOL.... Do you do math? Yea, posters only agree with 1 out of 30 of your posts and agree with 1 out of 7 of my posts......

Furthermore consensus is garbage..... A room full of people can be wrong.

So yea,

Go play your NHL 17 fantasy rosters..

You're not hurting my feelings - I don't even know you... You're making baseless claims and assessments.. You're wrong and I'm going to point that out.

If you must know - yes, I have posted a lot recently because I broke my leg a few weeks back so I'm limited in what I can do and will be physically limited for at least another month so get used to me posting. I cant watch TV all day, I'm a productive person with an active mind so I need to produce something - so I post about hockey... If you were stuck in a chair all day you would post a lot too..

You're the one taking low blows here attacking me and my character while trying to speak for others because you're offended. If anyone is butthurt here it's you.
