That Draisaitl trade is really not good

The Draisitl trade beyond awful. First of all, you get a lesser player (in my opinion) in Johanssen. Second of all, Nashville will not be willing to take him on for a cap hit of 10.5 million which you’ve essentially made it by retaining 2 million of Johanssens contract. Just makes no sense for both teams

Instead of the Draisaitl trade (which makes no sense for either team) to free up cap space, trade Russell in summer 2019 after he provides his trade list. Maybe you have to incentivize a team to take him by throwing in a prospect or pick. Not sure what you did with Benning but he definitely has value as a 3rd line RHD. If Sekera rebounds next year, he will have decent value, not negative value.

You’re downgrading picks and losing a player. I get the cap dump, but why wouldn’t you upgrade a pick then?

ie. Sekera + 4th rd for 2 nd rd pick?

cuz there doing u a favour by taking his bad contract.... Its a lose - lose for the other team if they take the bad contract+ lose a better pick
