Crawford's draft picks looking solid

Created by: Billy739

Description
Timmons hired Crawford from VAN in 2014 to replace him after his Promotion and since then we've hard Scherbak,Juulsen ,Sergachev, and Poehling (first time in 20+ years that all 4 firsts look like they'll be stars)

i want to build on that . in my Vision Timmons is premoted again from assistant GM to GM as he's given our staff an overhaul at each level since 2014 never making waves but always making progress plus he speaks french and has been here since like 2001 or something starting from the bottom and making it to the top .

this is without predicting who's we'll draft between now and then so i created room for growth

Trades
1.
MTL
  1. Anderson-Dolan, Jaret
  2. Brown, Dustin
  3. 2022 2nd round pick (LAK)
Additional Details:
MTL takes on Brown's cap and remaining term to get Dolan and a 2nd for Petry w/ retained cap leaving LAK with a 3.75m cap for a 2nd pair RD
LAK
  1. Petry, Jeff ($1,750,000 retained)
Additional Details:
MTL gets a 2nd pick in 2022 and Center prospect Anderson-Dolan for Petry and taking on 35 year old Brown's 5.8m cap for 3 years.
2.
MTL
  1. Lucic, Milan
  2. Yamamoto, Kailer
Additional Details:
2 hard hitting agitator's on wing with multiple cups
MTL takes Lucic's severely over paid contract to make the deal work .

i went with EDM on this because they need Wingers who dig out pucks and go to the front of the next to support their 3 centers Mcdavid,Drisatl and RNH.

you do give up a solid piece but you also gain wingers you need in the west to help Mcdavid win games . they are Spark Plugs or Momentum shifters.
EDM
  1. Brown, Dustin ($1,875,000 retained)
  2. Shaw, Andrew
3.
MTL
  1. 2020 5th round pick (PIT)
  2. 2022 3rd round pick (PIT)
Additional Details:
Conditional 3rd .
-if PIT makes ECF with KA playing 50% or more games pick turns to 2nd round pick
-if PIT wins the cup the pick becomes a 1st round pick

PIT logic = they get a players who's never missing games and shows up to hit/block shots every night .he's a good and cheap bottom pair LD for a playoff push .
PIT
  1. Alzner, Karl ($1,000,000 retained)
4.
MTL
MTL gets Fleury's RFA rights and CAR gets a goalie to shadow Ward and grow . (Lindgrens awesome in short stints but has trouble playing more then 3 straight and playing more then 50 games and needs to mentor with a starter to become as consistent long term as he has been up until this point with broke MTL rosters playing no defense infront of him .(Darling was system dependent where as Lindgren is not and succeeds everywhere)
    CAR
    1. Lindgren, Charlie
    2. 2021 3rd round pick (MTL)

Rutherford is not as stupid as Bergevin, he won't risk good picks for a pylon

Dude Poehling and Juulsen won't be stars. Good support guys, in best case scenario Poehling becomes a Cody Eakin-type center and Juulsen a Petry-type defenceman. As for Scherbak he does have raw talent and i see him being a 50 pts guy in the nhl so i guess that's not bad. And Sergachev is gone for a little princess so that's thatcry
But drafting outside the first round is very important, even more than good drafting in first round which the Habs have not done well at all.
But i agree that drafting is not the biggest problem of the Habs management but much more their roster decisions when it comes to signing and trading which is why i firmly believe MB MUST be fired and Timmins demoted from asst GM back to head amateur scout.

i disagree and honestly everything you said flys in the face of the Professionals who i trust more .

Sergachev ironically has had his minutes slashed for acting like a 'Princess' forcing Steive Y to deal major asset's for a top 4 LD they thought he was going to be
right up until Coach Cooper benched him 2 games after Sergy went after a Referee getting his team a penalty and that was the last time he saw top 4 minutes getting 14-16 minutes since with a few times getting more due to special teams play but his coach and GM is legit pissed off at his attitude issues or they never would have moved Namestinkov ,Howden and those picks for Mcdonugh to take top 4 with Hedman .

Timmons move to assistant GM just happened and we just got rid of Larry Carriere who has been running our Development since 2011 with MB having no control in firing the guy as Carriere was hired in 2011 before MB(2012) put in place as Molsons guy just like Molson hired MB's first coach long time Molson stooge Clement Jodoin .(only after pressure to fire MB did Molson allow Jodoin and Carriere to be moved out and replaced because its his people that were part of the problem , the one's he hired with MB having zero control of )

the brightest spot in all habs Management is Timmons and you want to demote him ?
and you wonder why we cant have nice things.

honestly he's slow and kinda not what we need but he fights and if he gets hurt who cares he isnt a scorer he's a garbage goal guy .
habs forwards need a heavy weight to train Mccarron anyways which could be a real upside here

Lmao so many people bashing on Sergachev just because he got benched 2 games and forgetting that he is 19 yr old and the best rookie d-man in the league with MCavoylaugh while Drouin has done nothing good this season but hey he is french canadian! so great!

almost all your D in both cups were pylons on other teams brought in for good picks and then flipped for twice what they paid when you won a cup.
so i'm a little confused about your logic here when your blue line is a revolving door outside Letang who's always injured a worry you dont have with an Ironman like Alzner who never misses games.

if you think teams dont see a value in a guy who never takes a sick day our gets injured then you're in the minority i think and just dont appreciate how rare that is in a guy shot blocks and hits every night .
is he a puck mover , no but PIT is full of puck movers and what you need is a shut down D who isnt going to be injured easily as you've got a long history of your D getting banged up and scrambling for rentals

no because his GM traded to acquire a player at a high cost to replace Sergy's top 4 followed by 22 games straight with cut minutes while being the top team in the league which is REALLY risky and something you dont often see if at all

also Drouin was a RW brought into MTL because our RW is Gallagher and Shaw before Drouin came along for Scherbak started.
Chucky lost his Center spot after partying in the playoffs and showing up hungover forcing us to move Drouin to center or DLR

Chucky's been a more mature player since and will likely earn his Center back next season so Drouin can go back to playing as a Winger.
that being said Drouin played double the games Chucky did in Junior as Center while winning a league title ,playoffs and memorial cup as the highest scoring center on a team with nathan mckinnon
while chucky only played 34 games i believe it was in his last 2 years junior as center playing wing his first and only full junior season so it pretty reasonable to see why MTL chose Drouin of DLR for example

Bruh, the reason the bolts did not get Karlsson is they did not want to give up Sergachev or Point! Plan b was Mcdo!

Lucic est une poubelle et ne renoncerait jamais à son no trade pour jouer pour les canadiens

Petry has been our best defenseman for large portions of the last 2 years. Why would we trade him for a distant 2nd round pick and a decent but not great prospect? Why would we need to take on Brown at all in that deal? Why would we retain on Petry as well? Then we retain again when flipping to Oilers? So Lucic's contract at 6M is too much, but Montreal wants to tack on 3.6M on top of that? For someone that likely gives us the same production as McCarron at this point?

Also, this doesn't address the center position at all. Galchenyuk will never get another chance at center for whatever moronic reason. Danault is not a #2C on 90% of teams. Poehling is unlikely to make the jump next year.

Also, would rather let DLR play 4C instead of having Bitten skip AHL completely.
