Signing Sammy long term + lottery win + surprises!!!

Created by: Zach
Team: 2018-19 Buffalo Sabres
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 20, 2018
Published: Mar. 20, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Reinhart gets the Arvidsson contract.

With the Sabres winning the lottery and already having pieces like Eichel, Mittelstadt, Reinhart, O'Reilly, and Ristolainen, Tavares decides to head close to home and is also very familiar with Buffalo with his uncle being Buffalo sports royalty.

Not really that unrealistic if the Sabres win the lottery.

Tavares, Eichel, Dahlin, Mittelstadt, Ristolainen, O'Reilly, Reinhart, and Guhle.......That's a scary team!

The whole Tavares thing is a separate discussion, but to summarize my opinion Id say it makes sense for him, but there are better options out there.

As far as the Grubauer trade goes, Caps would be looking for some more quality in the return. He played about 3.5 games for us consecutively in the California trip and then against the Islanders, and he was magnificent. He gave up 5 goals in that span and faced a LOT of rubber. I’d say a return from Buffalo would include your 2nd rounder and a good forward prospect, ideally.

Thanks for the constructive feedback, didn't really know what the going rate was for Grubauer.

You can get a goalie just as good or better in free agency, thats why goalie trades dont happen much.

Really? Who is as good and as young as Grubauer in free agency?

The trades are reasonable, bu might need some tweaking here & there

2 big IFs there in us winning the lotto & then Tavares deciding that’s enough to get him to choose here

But if it all works out...
      I’d love it

And I’d tweak your lineup a little,
      but it’s pretty solid
This is one of the better posts I’ve seen on here

I can't say who will be free agents, but Raanta, Hutton, and Khudobin all have expiring contracts. Even Lehner. Also, to start, why wouldn't the caps move Holtby instead?
They save money and they retain this perceived great young goalie. Especially when the Sabres are just sending them their garbage in return.
