Apparently the Maple Leafs wouldn't trade Kapanen as part of a package in exchange for KARLSSON, so I don't think the Leafs would give him up for Spezza. shakes head

If you want Kapanen give us Seguin back!! FUN FACT, (not so fun for Leafs fans) Tyler Seguin was drafted by the Boston Bruins 2nd overall with a Maple Leafs 1st round pick that was traded as part of the Bruins-Leafs trade that sent Phil Kessel to Toronto. As well as that the Leafs also traded a pick in THAT SAME TRADE that ended up being defensemen Dougie Hamilton.

Maybe.... but apparently Ottawa wanted Kapenen or Dermott and the Leafs declined.

No NHL teams (including Dallas) want the 2017/18 versions Spezza and Hanzel. The 2018/19 version are probably worse. Dallas can enjoy their cap hit for one more year.

Yikes. I know Leafs fans can at times over value their players... but comparing Kapanen to Seguin? That is absolutely ludicrous IMO....

I have to agree, both of those have underperformed badly when compared to their salaries, although Hanzal has suffered a number of injuries, and the latest one has been quite major.

If I were the Stars GM, I'd buy Spezza out and put Hanzal to LTIR if he is unable to play.
