Created by: DCB
Team: 2018-19 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Apr. 2, 2018
Published: Apr. 2, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Yea i know the leafs shouldn't resign JVR and the OEL trade might be out in left field but the leafs could ice this team. Btw, the reason I didnt put Horton on LTIR was to avoid bonus overages for 2019-2020

could the about worse oel trade posted. he's certainly isn't worth nearly all that in playing value. and he isn't worth worth 7m. i wonder how many leaf fans have even seen he play. it's just not that good.
kovi was a good nhler years ago, not reason to think he is good one now.

I wouldn't sign OEL to a deal if he was a free agent, let alone going after him in a trade. Replace Liligren with Nylander, subtract a first rounder and you could acquire a Provorov, Hanifin, Seth Jones type of defensemen. Kovalchuk is past his prime, I'd be surprised if he got 5 mill per year.

OEL is a premium right handed defenseman the leafs so desperately need, and you wouldn't pursue him if he became available? You also think Nylander, Brown and a first is worth provorov/jones/hanifin?

Sorry, if you have never seen OEL play, but he is a LHD. He's better than average but premium? And the Leafs aren't in desperate need of premium RHD (which OEL isn't )that they give up so many futures. The Leafs are trying to be like other good teams, develop their own players and Lilijgren looks like he might a very good RHD in a few years (and I just not making up nonsense, he truly is a RHD)
