Why would Duchene want to leave a rebuilder to go to a team that needs a rebuild? I don’t think Chicago fans have wrapped their heads around being a non playoff team that isn’t better than any of the teams who got in. The Hawks remarkable players moving forward are simply Kane and Towes... the playoff teams are clearly better, but I also like Benn n Seguin, McDavid and Draisaitl and Monaghan Gaudreau as the better core duo over the next 3 to 5 seasons, so there’s really no advantage for the Hawks anymore.

All the players you signed realistically get more money. I also don’t understand how the cap grows by 7m, I don’t see that happening.

Chicago doesn't need a rebuild. They had a goalie out for most the season, and from that point forward, looked to rookies or 2 year players to see what they can offer. The Hawks players moving forward are: Crawford, Toews, Kane, Debrincatt (#1 scorer on the team and a rookie), Schmaltz, Sikura (just signed his rookie contract), and arguably Keith.

The RFA's won't get more money or won't get more then a $250K increase over what i have here. Maroon won't get much more, Nash won't get much more, JVR won't get much more, Hickey may. The other thing is the Hawks are still highly desirable team to go to. It has the #1 fan base as rated by the NHL, arguably Nashville, Vegas, and Boston are the only teams that have that type of energy year in and year out (Vegas tbd). Have you ever been to a Hawks game at the united center? I've been to over a dozen other stadiums in the NHL and nothing compares.

The cap is going to 78-82 as highly publicized. It all depends on revenues with Vegas in the fray now.
