Lottery win + Tavares 3 year max salary (not realistic)

Description
Get JT to Montreal with a 3 year max 20% of cap contract. It gives Montreal a few seasons to woo JT in hopes of a more reasonable 8 year deal signed when Dahlin needs a new deal, and it gives JT a massive payday while not committing long term.
If they win the lottery Dahlin is obvious, his contract is including bonuses.

    So if Pacioretty and Byron only fetched a 4th rounder, that's it? You'd move them?

    If it was making room for JT and left cap space for a 2C then yes. I honestly believe Galchenyuk can be an elite goal scorer and moving Drouin to the wing where he can thrive removes the need for Byron.

    That mentality would get you fired......scratch that, if it is Habs organization, it get you a extension.... lol but yeah, you don't just trade valuable assets for anything. You'd move Byron @ 1.1M but resign Shaw @ 1M?

    Im not opposed to moving any of those guys but it has to make sense at least......

    Shaw is a right handed shot, Byron is a lefty. I prefer some balance. It seems your biggest issue is that I didn't want to argue over the value of the players being traded. Would you be happier if I edited it to Anywhere for good value? How would you like it phrased?

    Yeah i seriously doubt that John Tavares would agree only to sign a 3 year deal in Montreal, Even if he signs there and that's a big if. IHe's going to take them to the cleaners.
