Five stars to any post that trades O'Reilly. IMO all of your trades are close enough, except the last one. That Arizona 2nd round pick will most likely be in the bottom 3rd (32 to 62), and a 3rd, 4th and 5th is not enough. Just a quick guide, if you want to move up to a mid level (10th to 20th) it takes 3 picks from the NEXT round to do it. so you would need 3 3rd to move up to a 2nd.

This is a good site to use https://www.broadstreethockey.com/2013/4/25/4262594/nhl-draft-pick-value-trading-up

He pulled a list of 46 trades from '06 to '12 which met these criteria:
The trade involved only picks, not players (since he did't want to have to estimate how valuable those player are to get a sense for the market opinion about picks)
The exact position of every pick was known at the time of the trade (i.e. no trades that include a future 2nd round pick, since he did't want to have to estimate how likely that pick was to be 31st or 60th)
This gave an estimate of how much value GMs put on each pick.

zero stars for any trades that just cap dump players, just so they sign ufas. you traded 5.6m pomerville and expect picks back from vegas and then you sign a vegas ufa Perron for less than the salary of pomerville. the trades and signings shakes head

Yea honestly that last trade was just a throw away lol. Basically I'm trading Pommers to any team that i can get a few mid to low picks from.. yep he's a cap dump but that's what makes JT possible. As you see i have about $2.2m in cap space so if JT needs a bit more money to sign here we can still do it.
