im not an Ottawa fan but id assume it would be the same as Pacioretty being a prospect and a 1st rounder but I bet Silfverberg and a 1st and 3rd would be sufficient but then again I'm not an Ottawa fan...

not an ottawa fan either but imo if OTT was to trade hoffman it would signal a rebuild/youth movement. I dont think they will swap hoffman for a player thats only 1 year younger than him. I think they would prefer a package of {sam steel, 1st round pick +} or {max jones, 1st round pick ++} with some conditions on the picks re: hoffman resigning

As a SENS fan I agree with this. I'd move him for Steel and a first, but if the best offer was Jones and first then I might shop elsewhere.

Would you do Jones, Larsson, and a 2nd?

Didn't you say prospect and a first rounder, same as Pacioretty? There were rumours of Hoffman to St. Louis for Kyrou and a first and also to Philly for Sanheim and a first, so Steel and a first would be the cost

Quality > quantity, you would need to switch Jones for Steel or the 2nd for a 1st

what I'm about to say is probably going to make you say well then get lost because Ottawa won't take this" but hear me out... Steel is basically untouchable and it would have to be Jones and a first rounder because I highly doubt BM moves steal but that being said we would probably have to add a 2nd round pick or a 3rd and take on Bobby Ryan's contract (with some possible cap retention, if not from the tens then a third party team)

I won't call Max Jones a bust but he sure isn't projected to be a legit top 6 player at the NHL level.
Ottawa's own LW prospects Filip Chlapik and Alex Formenton have higher ceilings. Maybe even Parker Kelly.
Anaheim's mid 1st round pick could be years away from the NHL, IF he ever makes it.
Hoffman would pot Anaheim 25 to 30 goals this coming season, Steel and a mid first rounder is not too much to pay.
Another option I would consider is Sam Steel, Maxime Comtois and Anaheim's 1st FOR Mike Hoffman, Andreas Englund, Francis Perron and a 2019 3rd round pick.
