Thank you for taking the time to complete and publish a team for the Buffalo Sabres. I appreciate your time and effort.

A few thoughts on your team:

1. The return you receive for Beaulieu & Pominville is not worth the benefit from moving them off of the roster when you consider the Sabres also give up better draft choices in the deal. I think the fact that both Pominville and Beaulieu are on expiring contracts the Sabres would be better off leaving them on the roster and seeing if they have value at the trade deadline;

2. Pominville has a M-NTC I am not sure he would waive it to go to Las Vegas;

3. McCabe is also worth more than your return. An injury shortened season last year should not dissuade you from allowing him a spot on the roster to see what you have;

4. I do not see the Sabres being able to land JVR or Perron at those low figures. I suspect Vegas will be willing to pony up at least $6,000,000 a year to Perron;

5. Casey Mittelstadt to the wing would be the Sam Reinhart experiment all over..... trying to make him a Center when Sampson is better suited on the wing. Mittlestadt best position is center and for the upcoming season it should be #3C in order to develop and learn the professional game;

6. I like the Sampson signing;

Thanks for the effort.

Wagsnags. Thank you so much for your comments. I appreciate your time and criticism. I took some points into consideration and made some adjustments. I also disagree with a couple of points.
Point 1. Pominville must go and if we can unload him for a loss of a draft pick (from 7th to 6th) I am perfectly ok with that. Anything better is gravy. I picked Pominville to go to Vegas because I thought he'd relish in going to a team that is having success and has the cap space. And so I agree that it might not be the best choice for him and his family (and hence NMC), if we can get any team to take him and his monstrous salary as well as his unproductiveness, I feel that this is closer to the base case than anything else. Point 3. I also have this as a base case. I feel no one would give us more than a 3rd for him, and I would be ok with giving him up for anything 3rd pick or worse. I thought a 4th was fair. Unfortunately, his track record is a disaster for us, and this might be letting another Armia go, but I am ok with this. We are also loaded on the LHD side.This team has to make some sacrifices and I thought it was also fair that he was my biggest one. Point 4. I removed Perron as I thought it might be a bad signing and anything more than what I offered would be a bad deal. I added Brady Tkachuk instead, as I think he is the worst we'll get (how awesome is that?!) with the draft lottery. Point 5. I beleive in ROR, Reinhart, and Okposo, and so I am going to have Casey M. hop over to the wing (like Reino) unless he can out prove ROR and to which I would just reverse these two in their positions. I believe that winning would come easier and be that much sweeter if you overcame and triumphed, rather than changing the 'core' and so I am of the belief that ROR is out number 2, and should be for the next 5 years. I then signed Dennis Wideman with some of the cap space (we need another decent RHD) and I feel this is a decent upgraded roster. I am not a big fan, personally, of throwing out massive creative trades, although I know its so fun to speculate) and I just don't think it's that productive so I tend to stay away from that. I hope this makes this a little more appealing. And thanks again for your comments. J
