So you're bright idea is to trade a top 4 d man for 2 2nds and an injury big salary dump? AND trading a top center another top 4 dman a 2nd and a top 6 for a top 4 D and a 4th line center with 1 year left to put the Leafs at ONE center signed after this year? Also you sign a big name guy and still have 2 AHL defencemen in your top 6??? Have fun trying to sign everyone the next year

Kadri Gardiner Carrick 2nd if fair for Parayko. Stl won’t trade him though so don’t worry.

And yes Zaitsev is moved (top 4 D) to save some money to pay for Carlson. And in this case Parayko needs his top 4 spot. So I’d love to get more for Z but most think his value isn’t worth a 1st. Moulson is a money trade in a year that we don’t need that extra money.

Moving Gardiner should be a priority. Not cause of his poor play in some games, I like Gards. But Dermott is better suited for that role and Gards shouldn’t be resigned long term at 28 for big money. I don’t want to trade Kadri but you need to trade a big piece if you are going after Parayko and Willy and marns ain’t moving. And Kadris salary cap is good but bringing in JT long term and JT short term fills our Cs up. And Barbie is young and an rfa that would be cheap to resign. Most depth players won’t command much. And the AHL players you are worried about, Dermott was an AHL player. They’re good enough depth to play.
