I like the trade, I think, but the lineup is suspect. Tkachuk, if he's ever going to be a centre, won't be next season. Poehling, if he's ever a #2 centre, won't be next season. Maybe try to trade Alzner (keeping back some cap if you have to) and use the money for a UFA centre.

Poehling is staying at the University so he is not going to be in the line up

The only way I think we should take Tkachuk is if we and him fall outside the top 5. If MTL lands at 4-6 I think they either take Bouchard, Boqvist or trade down to the 8-11 range to take a center and pick up another piece.

Dude Tkachuk isn't a #1C he's primarily LW not a Center. Good luck if you think Tkachuk is a #1C just like Drouin he's no #1C.

What about this roster!

I like the roster, mostly. Unfortunately, I don't think the moves are realistic.

I imagine any hope of trading Shaw is now gone until next year's trade deadline. On the AZ trade, there's not enough going to the desert to make that possible. Given that they are stuck with Seabrook, I can't see Chicago taking Petry, though Anisimov would be a good return.
