Montreal is probably adding in a patches/ROR swap. As a habs fan I know a top 6 Center is much harder to come across than a top 6 winger.

That and ROR is under control for much longer and I think Buffalo is looking for young players to build with, not win now players. I think to include patches in a trade for ROR there needs to be a third team (like FLA).
