That Jackets deal is potentially doable for us, but if Montreal found it acceptable I'd be a tad surprised.

It will fix MTL prob with TOP C (1or2line) + LHD... both young and NHL ready (and don't forget MTL still sitting on 4 2nd rd pick.

I would do that deal if you either take out the sabres second or retain on alzner.

If I was MB I would push hard for Draisatl but it might not be realistic. The one I see having the highest chance of happening is prying Monahan out of Calgary. They might be in on JT if he goes to FA.

If I am Oilers GM, I take this deal. Value is there, frees up cap space to sign a proven veteran winger like Neal. Also adding good prospects at 3 and 10. Goodjob

But EDM would still be in a great shape with more $$$ under the cap. 2 TOPLW for Drai
    Galch- McJesus- Rattie
    Zadina- RNH- Pulj
    Lucic- Strome- Slepy
and they will add Dobson at the D

I can't really speak for edmonton but they are really high on Draisatl which I'm still wondering why with that 8.5 mil price tag.

Maybe little too much and keeping Oilers cap very thigh... But MTL can handle it as we don't have there C-depth.

I think Zadina would need some time in minors to develop, but likely not far away. With cap savings could look like

    Neal/E. Kane-McDavid-Rattie
    Galch-RNH-Pulj
    Lucic-Stome-Slepy

Draisaitl is 22, 6,3 215lbs, 77 points the previous season and 70 on a down year last year. 8.5 is a steal compared to the 10 that's being paid to Eichel. Who would you rather have at those price points?

Draisaitl trade is a win win for both teams. I'd try to replace Galchenyuk with Pacioretty. Oilers could always flip him at the deadline if he doesn't resign. Could fetch a nice return.

It is little expensive maybe the first 2 years... but the last 5 year deal at 8,5 will be a deal has they planned to have the team cap near 100M in 5 years.

It was my GOAL number one but everytime I added Pacioretty everyone was not convince because FA... But Yhea Pacc + 3OA for Drai is fine with me. cheers

Eichel because he has a higher ceiling, higher ppg even when playing with scraps for wingers. I laugh when people think draisatl is better than Eichel. It's not a good look for Edmonton fans.

I never said that Draisaitl was better then Eichel... Drai is career 0.75PPG and Eichel is 0.84PPG career. Drai is -7 career and Eichel is -25 for career. SO again at 8.5 vs. 10 mill per year, difference is minimal.. Not as a fan perspective but as a team perspective. Draisaitl is a more appealing option at price point.

Except that player rating is irrelevant and has been proven so. Eichel is a leader unlike Draisatl. If someone were to take Draisatl over Eichel they are insane.

And Eichel has "proven" hes a leader? And by you saying that player rating is irrelevent, contradicts what you say because in your post, you mentioned that Eichel has a higher ceiling and more PPG? Im not argueing that Eichal isnt an elite talent. But to say that Eichel is leaps and bounds better then Draisaitl because he has a "higher ceiling" and "better PPG" when you saying player rating is irrelevant kills your point. AGAIN if a team is looking for a 1C which both clearly are, Draisaitl at 8.5 is more appealing that Eichel at 10. Doesnt take away from the FACT that Eichel is still an Elite level talent.
