still not good

Description
This allows Dahlin not to be overwhelmed in his first year, and enough cap space when you need to sign him.

I know the Okposo trade is unlikely due to NMC, however, it benefits both sides by giving Buff another D, and give Calgary some secondary scoring. Sam Bennett is not going to wow, but has a ceiling of a solid second line guy, fits with ROR.

Relying on Vanek to bring Mittelstadt along, and Nylander making the team. While Eichel in a Crosby-esq role with lesser skilled wingers. I did really like Justin Bailey at the end of this year and think he can produce with talent around him. Cj Smith is promising, not sure if h makes team but playing with Eichel would help.

Ullmark is the starter, I think Johnson did fine last year and he can split games with Ullmark, is a good mentor.

no way they throw Mittelstadt or Dahlin into the fire like that right away. If you're bringing in Brodie, you're bringing him in to take the top line minutes. If you're keeping ROR, you're playing him above Mittelstadt. CJ Smith has proven nothing, he isn't going to get top line minutes without earning them. Bailey is that times 10. Bailey is a depth guy not a top liner. Sure they'll both look better with Eichel, but who wouldn't. They're not going to produce like a top liner. They're just going to bring Eichel down while playing above their means. Vanek is very slow, and while he is skilled, if he doesn't fit the system then it hurts him and the team. Johnson looked like absolute garbage, you may be the only one that thinks last season went well, and I have no idea what you were watching.

very nice job of putting together your team.
I particularly like your explanation about Bailey, Smith and Vanek. He is a very inexpensive above average LW who averaged .050 pts/min last year.
If you could get Brodie and Bennett for that package you are a better negotiator than I could ever dream to be.
I wonder if you were to offer Nylander, Okposo, McCabe and 2019 1st for Hamilton, that probably still would not be enough.
IMO, you need to move the cancer off of the team. But I am going to give you 5 stars for the nice job.

I don't think your CGY and NYI trades are realistic. NYI maybe, if Snow is desparate, but I don't see CGY trading for a 30+ winger
