If the team's contending you might as well hold onto Simmonds for another year. They have the cap space.

Farabee wouldn't get a shot in the roster...roster politics and bc of the expansion (just my opinion based on Hexy's history). I think only Svech or Zadina would really force Hexy to make room for them. Also, unfortunately I think Myers will be in the AHL again for another year...again bc of roster politics. Amac won't get bought out...at minimum we trade him at the end of next year. All the scouts are saying Frost is skilled enough to make the jump but they think he'll be down in juniors for one more year. If we can't trade for a center, I think (and I'll hate the decision) they'll re-sign Filpula for one more year.

It's not bad but they are going to need an already good NHL player to put them over the top that soon. Can't get on board with a 3rd line of rookies turning the team into a cup contender.

i agree with all of this but remember this guy made a 19/20 roster not 18/19 so this is technically two years from now.

No worries. I agree on what you said regarding this year. Farabee and Frost won't make the roster. Myers will start in the AHL next season but could get called up in case of an injury. Riley Nash is a good 3C I think he'll target.

but even in two years I don't see him getting much of a shot. He probably would develop better in college than being scratched by Hak so you still aren't really wrong in that analysis. Myers should/better be on the team by then though lol

I'm still not big on throwing $ at Nash personally. We have enough cap space to take care of our own and get a really good/impact player. We'll see.

Kubel would be a sophmore by this time, but I see what you mean. Although, I think Frost and Farabee would be skilled enough year one to make that 3rd line amazing or good at the very least. Was considering trading for a guy like Hoffman but chose not to.

wouldn't mind Hoffman, Nino, etc. (you know, the guys everyone wants lol) but idk if NAK is on the team next year. I think myers has a better shot than him to make the team.

This roster would have more skill and speed this time around versus Pittsburgh. Only question is Hart in net, but I think he'll be a top 15 NHL goalie year one.

NAK was very good in the AHL this year. He was argubaly the best AHL player at 5vs5 this year. Also, Hextall specifically praised NAK for his development in the AHL this year.

Maybe a guy like Grabner could be a better fit. Cheap and fast penalty killer.

yeah i know i'm not denying that. I just don't see Lehtera, Weise, Raffl or Weal being sent to the AHL and think Lindblom will start the season in the NHL. That means we have NAK, Vecchione, Martel, Vorobyev, and Leier fighting for one LW/RW spot and one C spot. Without factoring in a possible FA, Frost, etc. Idk, with two spots for sure open on defense and Gudas maybe even moved there is more of an opportunity for Myers I think.

You're relying 100% on youth developing into producers, burying a contract you don't have to, and bringing up goalies too quickly.

Hart should be ready in two years, same with Myers.
