Now that the Leafs are sustainably good, you're going to have to get used to your 1st rounders not holding that much value. Playoff teams' 1st rounders are good enough for a nice rental at the TDL or a good player that is being replaced on a roster and is put on the block, but I doubt a young promising RHD like Pesce is available without a proven piece coming back in the deal.

Why would Carolina make that deal? They just signed Pesce longterm (At a great price). I understand that it's two first rounders going, but they're likely going to be in the later portion of the first round, meaning you're getting two B prospects for a top pairing guy. No way.

True but i didnt want to sign carlson cause his camp is looking for 9 million and carolina has more d coming up such as jake bean and haydon fluery if not pesce a guy like pysyk would be good too
